Monopoly??

For the last two days we have been site seeing in London, and it felt like we were on a monopoly board....places like Trafalgar Square, Bond Street, Park Lane, Oxford Street....to name a few.
We went on the tube to Oxford Circus and walked down Piccadilly Circus and then down to the old girls place....we saw her looking at us through the window but when I put the camera up to take a photo she quickly closed the curtain.
Actually I was a bit suprised at the size of Buckingham Palace...smaller than I expected!! We fluked the changing of the guards, not that exciting!

Then we walked down to the houses of parliament and set my watch by Big Ben...Now that's a big clock!! Looks like he's on a bit of a lean in this photo, but he's not.

After that we went down to the Tower of London, but there was so many people lined up to go in we decided just to take a photo of the outside and were quite happy with that! We walked along the Thames river to the tower bridge and then took the tube home. We both think the TUBE is fantastic, so quick and easy to get around...don't need a car here! We're starting to feel our age as we need a little rest in the arvo before we go out again. So after that, we took a stroll through Kensington Garden's and Hyde Park which are just down the road...there's concert on there tonight with Neil Young playing, would love to go but it's sold out...will probably be able to hear it tho.
We decided to go to the little italian restaurant around the corner again, since it was so nice the night before and then came home and were asleep by about 8pm.
Today we went on the tube again to Trafalgar Square to the National Gallery, but again there were heaps of people outside waiting to get in so we decided to go to the Portrait Gallery instead, which was great. We realised when we got out why people were lining up outside the National Gallery, it wasn't open yet, but by then we couldn't be bothered as we wanted to go to the British Museum as well....so off we went. There is soo many people here, it's like walking through side show ally at the royal show everywhere you go.
We're home again now and will probably go and find somewhere to eat soon. We like our room even tho it's a bit noisy, and the place is being done up and not quite finished.
