Leaving London via Gatwick airport involved getting a taxi from the apartment to Victoria Station, from there we got on the Gatwick express.
We couldn't fit our bags in the baggage area so the conductor told us to go to the next carriage, and we could sit in there...just happen to be first class...we thought, cool we've been upgraded and got comfortable, there was only one other person in there. It was good to see a bit of the outer suburbs as we hadn't been that far out. Anyway along came another conductor, she took our tickets and made us move to the next carriage....Bummer...oh well we got to see what 1st class was like even tho it was only for about 10 mins. We got to the airport and MY GOD...so many people and it all seemed so disorganised. But we found the right place and got in line and eventually got our boarding passes and went through to the departure lounge, but again Steve got stopped and searched and his shoes checked and frisked all over...such a bad boy!! Now we only had 2 hours to wait (there's alot of waiting when you travel!!).

The flight was ok except we thought the plane might fall out of the sky as there was alot of unusual noise coming from the engines...but no one else seemed to notice!!
When we got to Keflavik airport we had to get on a bus and drive half an hour to Reykjavik and then get a taxi to the apartment which is on Gardastareti number 40. Quite a nice place, nice comfortable bed and good TV channels in english. Great kitchen with everything you could want. The only problem is the bathroom...it's about the same size as a toilet on an airplane. Can't even turn around in the shower.... The apartment is within a few mins walk from the centre of the city. But it's very quiet...like a country town compared to London.
The buildings are lovely and the weather is cool but not too cool, between 12 and 18. There is no night...if you get up in the middle of the 'NIGHT' its still light. The sun sets about midnight and rises about 2 am but never really gets dark. But we have been sleeping very well and it hasn't worried us at all.
This is a lake right in the middle of town.
