Happy 29th Birthday Bianca

Today is my oldest daughter Bianca's birthday. This post is for her.

29 years ago today you were born getting us out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the hospital.

There was a bit of a worry when you arrived with the cord around your neck but all was OK much to our relief.
As I said in Elliot's birthday post I never thought I could love another child as much as I loved him, I was wrong!! A mothers love can stretch to as many children she has.

Elliot was still just a baby when you were born, only 14 months between you. You have been great mates all your lives even though you get on each other nerves now and then.
You were a joy as a baby sleeping though the night by 7 weeks old and never having a problem. You loved your food and turned into a pudgy little baby as this photo shows.

Bianca and (cousin) Jack

Bianca you were such a shy little girl, when ever we were out you would cling onto me (which i didn't mind one little bit). I had to drag you to kindy but gave up, thinking you just weren't ready for it. Then tried again with pre-primary with the teacher having to pry you off me and  having to leave you crying. That was soo hard for me, but ended up being the best thing   for you. Because, by the time school came around you were quite confident and left my side without any problems. You loved school and made lots of friends in Wickham
It took us so long to get you to smile in this photo taken at Kindergarten.

When we moved to Perth in 1988 you had to make new friends and still being a little shy we decided to get you into a few activities to help you with it. First was modelling. A class on Saturday morning with your cousin Eva. You seemed to enjoy it and it did bring you out of your shell. You also started gymnastics which showed you were quite athletic and flexible. But when we left Perth 2 years later you had no choice but to give it up.

You were never shy at home!!

You enjoyed school and always did well.

When we moved to Greenhead/Leeman you had to make a whole new set of friends, you were getting pretty good at it by now and were not shy anymore.

Year 7 Graduation - Such a cute smile!!

You were determined to do well and insisted that if you were going to high school then you had to go to Geraldton Senior High. This meant you had to board away from home. All was good until you got there and then you quickly changed your mind. After tears on the phone for a few weeks you settled in and managed to make it through almost 3 years away from home. You spent the end of the last year of your schooling at Jurien District High when neither of us could cope any longer.

After a few casual jobs in Leeman and Greenhead you decided that you should go to TAFE. So off you went to Geraldton again, and boarding again. But you never completed the course (which for the life of me I can't remember what it was) as most of the time was spent partying and having fun. One day you were playing football with your friends, you went for a big mark and snapped both the bones in your leg and ended up in plaster for a few months.

While still at school you met a boy (no need to mention his name here) who you fell in love with and after leaving school his job was working on the cray boats. During the season the boat fished out of Leeman and then the Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Geraldton. You were only 16 but insisted that you needed to go and live there. Georgia and I decided to fly over and visit you for a long weekend and when we got there we found you extremely ill. We flew you back to the mainland and you were kept in hospital for about a week with a kidney infection. I wanted you to come home then, but you were insistent that you needed to go back to the islands. So you did!!

As time passed you moved on to bigger and better things. Moving to Karratha in the north west of Western Australia ready to work hard at anything that came to you. You met and fell in love again and soon travelled from Western Australia to Queensland by car. While there you went back to school and completed a course that enabled you to work in hotel accommodation. Then drove all the way back to Karratha with your cousin. You soon got a job in a motel and then became the manager within a short time. But, being on call 24/7 wasn't really what you wanted to do with your life. You've now moved on to a large company and doing extremely well.

I am very proud of the woman you have become.  You hold yourself  with dignity and you find it hard to say no to someone in need. You are a beautiful and very compassionate caring person whom I love very much.

Happy Birthday Darling
