Albany and Beyond

What a beautiful place Albany is. I don't think I've ever had a really good look around here and Steve hasn't been here for about 10 years.

First things first, we had to find a place to stay. We had a bit of research on the net before we left Katanning but decided to wait and have a look around when we got here. We settled on Middleton Beach Holiday Park which is a Big4 holiday park. They were pretty booked out so we had to have a two bedroom cabin with a spa, what a shame!! It's very nice full kitchen with lounge and dining area. Very comfortable bed and white sheets!
Once we settled in we went for a drive around town to orientate ourselves with the area. Did you know that there are no traffic lights in Albany?? They just have round-a-bouts and it all work fine. We decided we would go 'out' to dinner the first night and had a lovely meal at Calmairis at Beachside in Middleton Beach. When we got home we had to install all the caches we were going to do the next day. So we were pretty tired by the time we got to bed.
One of the main reasons we love caching is that it takes us to so many beautiful places and Albany is a very beautiful place with lots of different beaches, lookouts and walk trails.

And another!
Yes we did walk up those stairs and yes I had to stop a couple of times to get my breath back.

There are quite a few tricky cachers in Albany. Some of the hides have been so clever and are called 'In Your Face' caches. Where they are not hidden under a bush or behind a rock but camouflaged in the open. We like these ones as they are challenging and make you determined to get them.

We had to go back twice to find this one!
