Today we finished the en-suite, well almost. We had a few problems right at the end which was a bit of a pain.
Sad face.....
Firstly the water in the shower pooled around the drain, not sure why because it was sloped down. But anyway Steve pulled up a couple of tiles and set the drain a little lower and again put the waterproofing on and then retiled it. Works well now!
Next we put the shower screen back, we were a bit worried that it wasn't going to fit as the new tiles are a bit thicker than the old ones. All was ok except for one corner, again Steve had to pull a tile off and redo it.
We had a few problems with the new toilet. It didn't come with the pipe we needed even thought it was on the instructions. We went back to the shop and asked them to order it from the company but they didn't have them. Great!! Eventually found a shop that had a pipe that did the trick. Then found out the toilet didn't sit close to the wall because the tiles were in the way....more chipping away of tiles...luckily we had lots of spares.
We had a few leaks under the sink but that was easy fixed. We thought we were nearly finished after I cleaned all the tiles in the shower and then started on the floor and Steve decided to put the door back on the toilet and found that it didn't fit anymore. So we took the door outside and cut some off. After a bit of a quick paint a couple of new towel rails a jolly good clean (except for the soap dish and a glass shelf for the shower recess, we've ordered them and hopefully will be here next week) it is finally all done.
So remember what it looked like before.....
....and now
love the floor traps
A sink each...no more fighting over the bowl...haha
.....and a very happy Steve, now that it's all finished! He worked very hard for 4 weeks and I think did a fantastic job!
