Christmas in Sauðárkrókur

We continued on our journey to Saudarkrokur, the scenery was absolutely spectacular. I must admit I was a little bit more than nervous driving on the wrong side of the road in these conditions and was very relieved when we arrived safely thanks to Stephen's expert driving.
The lovely scene we had from our window of Vicki's accommodation, Gamla Pósthúsið
Very Christmassy
Our first walk out in the snow and ice with Donna, Bella and Vicki in the background with Perla.
Vicki and I. Vicki showed us the better spikes to buy for our shoes and now we felt quite comfortable walking on the ice.
The big prawn and Bella
The fish factory. Dried fish carcasses that are shipped off to Africa. Was a bit smelly but not as bad as you would think. Love the look of them...took heaps of photos.

Looking back towards the town

Drangey in the distance
Nom Nom... We found a couple of caches while we were here too.
Walking home to Vicki's
It was lovely to finally meet my great nephew Henry. We had kinda met on Skype but it not quite the same.
Bella entertaining Henry and Henry entertaining us all
Gorgeous little man
My nephew Ross
It is custom in Iceland to have a dinner on Christmas Eve and Open gifts. We were invited to Olga's aunty Sigga's house to share in this tradition.

On the way home from Sigga's we were treated to falling snow... and woke up to this on Christmas morning.
Ailsa and Ray (Steve's Mum and Dad)
Sharing christmas morning with family even though they are on the other side of the world.
