Oslo & Bergen-Norway

The day after the wedding we left Saudarkrokur with Vicki and bussed down to Reykjavik. Took Vicki on a bit of a quick tour around Reykjavik but had to be up at 3am the next morning to fly to Oslo.
Oslo is a lovely place we all really enjoyed it. Might have had something to do with the fact that we stayed at the Grand Hotel, which was very old and classy with lots of character, plus it was right in the middle of the city which made it very easy to explore.

We went to the Munch Museum as Vicki is into art and knew a bit about his work, so made it more interesting for us. We bought a few prints so will show you all when we get home. We also went to a museum but neither of us can remember what it was called but it was interesting. (Maybe you can Vicki??)
We only stayed in Oslo for two nights and then took the train to Bergen which was quite spectacular.

When we got to Bergen we located a map at the train station and found that our Hotel was just up the road so decided to walk there instead of taking a taxi..since we had been sitting all day on the train!! Who's idea was that?????? We dragged our bags up the road and it got steeper and steeper by the time we got there we were stuffed! And then the icing on the cake, there was no elevator in the hotel and we had to carry the bags up a steep winding staircase. Thanks to Steve, Vicki and I didn't have to attempt it. We had dinner out that night on the dockside, it was lovely, but got a taxi home.

The next day we went on a ferry up the coastline to a fjord to Flam where we caught a train which rose to about 800 metre back up into the snow. Very spectacular scenery! From there we caught another train back to Bergen. Early the next morning we took a taxi to the Bergen airport and flew to Paris via Oslo.

Oh, also at the top of that winding staircase there was this.....so we had to take a photo!
