Innsbruck

We arrived in Innsbruck and walked to our hotel which was just up the road and no hills!!

After opening all the windows in the room because it was really hot and we couldn't find any airconditioning we went for a walk to see what we could see. The town was very quiet compared to most of the places we have been, not many tourists. It was just a short walk to the centre of town and had some dinner in one of the oldest buildings in Innsbruck around about the 14th centry.
The next day we thought we had better find a laudromat so Steve did some research and found there was only 400mtrs down the road, Great!! Only taking about an hour to do our washing as all the machines worked and so did all the dryers. The rest of the day was spent walking around checking out the sites

The following day, after some research by me, we went to the Innsbruck Flea Markets, much to Steve's delight!! We walked around and around, most of the stuff was junk but we found some old mother of pearl opera glasses and bought them. After freshening up we walked down to the centre of town and got on a tram and then a cable car which took us up to the top of the mountain which is the backdrop to the town of Innsbruck, climbing to 2260 metres. It was alot cooler with still some ice left from winter. It was a very pleasent afternoon with spectacular scenery and great company!! But then it all changed!! We hopped on the tram to come back down the last part of the mountain, got a seat, You Beauty! only to be told after waiting a while that the whole thing was kaput, if we only hadn't stopped for that beer!!! We were told we had to go and get the bus, ok not so bad..got on the bus with all the other rejects and sat there and sat there and cooked, no windows to open and stinking hot. We were very happy to get back to the hotel by the end of the day.

After a late checkout we walked back down to the train station and got the train to Venice.

I am envious that you two are still on holiday, coming back to the real world and work sucks...and the holiday is just a distant memory...not that you have to do that...being back in your own bed is nice though.
Your blog could be called Kerry & Steves search for Laundromats across Europe!

Venice and where else before the 15th?

We leave Venice tomorrow 6th Aug, and go to Florence for 3 days and Rome for 5 days. Leave Rome on the 14th and have a stopover in Dubai for a few hours. Am looking forward to our bed and we're thinking of starting a chain of laundromats....what do you think??
