I'm a Little Teapot...

This summer has been very hot and the garden has suffered badly.
Everything is very dry and even though we have just had a bit of rain, good showers are still not in sight. But, it is getting a bit cooler so the roses are starting to look a bit better. Definitely not a good year for roses.

Vicki will recognise the cactus below, it used to be hers. So glad it still flowered in our hands.

On a very sad note tho...
Our beautiful old Grass Tree (Black Boy) is dying. We don't know if it's lack of water, some sort of pest, maybe it didn't like the fertiliser we put on the roses or just old age. We are thinking it might be a combination of age and water. Anyway it's going to leave a very big hole in the garden. Don't know what we are going to put there in it's place. We are quite upset about it as it's probably at least 150 years old.

I have been searching the net for months trying to find a DuBarry Teapot to go with the trio's we purchased from the UK a few months ago for my birthday present from Steve. This one is also from the UK but found it on eBay.

Pretty sure it's not a James Kent as the name on the bottom has been scratched off. A James Kent one would have set us back at least $1000.00.
Arrived well packed and all in one piece.

It has a small chip on the base and has been repaired on the inner part of the lid.
We are really happy with it and matches the rest of the DuBarry pattern really well.

Really sad about the grass tree...it certainly added great shape and texture to your garden.

The teapot looks very much like the one I had that Eva, when 5 or 6 years old broke...it was in the very same position on that very same dresser.
