Updating our Ensuite

We thought since we have a spare bathroom now we could update ours. It was beginning to crack up from one side of the room to the other and in front of the vanity.
We tried to find the same tiles and just replace the broken ones but they were so out of date that not even the tile library had them.

 A few before pics.....

Not very clean, but I kinda lost interest when I found out we were going to pull it all apart.

Then the work started....

We soon found out why the tiles had cracked...There was no cement under them, only a weak mortar mix. Just chipping away at these few tiles took Steve ages....he had an idea!!
But firstly we had to take out the old vanity and replace it with the new.
This was really heavy and hard to place, because it had to be lifted over the drain pipe. Steve was very particular about the levels...took ages but finally it was right!!  Then the top went on and the basins placed in position.
Stephen (aka the plumber) changed the pipes and attachments from one water outlet to two. He's so clever!
Back to Stephen's idea.....buy a very big tool to get the job done easily and quickly
It was very noisy so all the safety gear was worn.
 It worked a treat!!
More updates in the next few days
