....A BIT OF AN UPDATE!

Not a lot has been happening so I've had to wait so there were a few things to tell you.

Xmas was interesting to say the least...

The Mather Clan
A great day was had by all except for Stephen, he was very ill (not from my cooking!). Not long after this photo was taken he went to bed. When everyone left I took him to the hospital. We thought if we went to the doctor instead of emergency it might be quicker, but we still had to sit and wait our turn and it took AGES!! I was surprised at how many people were there. What an exciting way to spend your xmas day!! A prescription in hand we got some pills and went home. The next day Steve stayed in bed while I entertained my family (sorry, no photo). We had my daughter Bianca and her partner Ryan, which was great, because it is very rare to spend time with Bianca over the Xmas break. My nephew Domenic was over from Melbourne, nice to catch up with him again. And my sister Donna who is always  good fun! Eva my niece called in on her way home from work to catch up, but unfortunately I had to leave her in Bianca's capable hands because Steve was getting worse and had a raging temperature. This time I  took him straight to the emergency. After about a 2 hour wait, he saw a doctor, had a few tests was given some medication and sent home. Hmmm. So we spent xmas and boxing day sitting at the hospital. That will be one to remember!  Still not really sure what the problem was, but he's all good now.

A few weeks ago we went to visit Donna and Bella (you've met her before here) at their place in Chidlow. We had to drop off  Bella's birthday/xmas present (A photo book from her birthday High Tea and Photo Shoot). We were chatting and Donna mentioned a little place in Midland called Simply Secondhand, so we just had to stop and take a look on the way home. (Ok, so I talked Steve into stopping.) I found this cute little dresser and just had to have it!

All that was needed was a bit of a clean and a rub down with some good quality polish and she looks gorgeous.

In the last few weeks we've had our area pick up. This is  where everyone in the street cleans out their garages, sheds and yards and puts anything they don't want out on the front verge and the council comes along and picks it up and takes it away for you. The bonus of this is that everyone can drive around and take whatever they want. Great for recycling, I think! Anyway we were driving down our street on the way to the shop and saw this chest of drawers. It had no top and no handles on the drawers, but the thought of it being crushed up and made into pulp sickened me. So on the way back, (Steve was hoping it would be gone by the time we got back) we picked it up. Needs a bit of work, but I like them.

There will be an update on the chest of drawers when we've finished doing them up.

We will be leaving in a couple of weeks to take a trip around Tasmania so will be updating the blog fairly often. We only decided on this trip a week or so ago even though we have been thinking about it for quite a while. We are hiring a car, which we think is pretty cheap at only $46 a day. And of course we will be doing a little bit of Geocaching as well.

Love your finds, can't wait to see what you do with the chest of drawers.

Looking forward to more posts when you are in Tassie.
