Today we went into the Wilderness...

We arrived at the Giants' Table and Cottages in Maydena, from the south at about 4pm and found the loveliest place waiting for us, Sticklepath Cottage.
A two bedroom cottage with everything you could want, even breakfast supplied. It is a home away from home.
The owners have used the water from the river and diverted it to man made ponds and platypus have made themselves at home so we're hoping we will get to see some or even just one platypus before we leave.
We had booked a table at the restaurant before we left Perth and was our first 'sit down at a restaurant' meal and was excellent! When we got back we flaked it!

Nice and cosy

Day 6

This is what we woke up to this morning. We decided that we should do a bit of washing and book our next lot of accommodation and by the time all that was done, it might have stopped raining. It didn't!!

We drove into the wilderness and up to Lake Pedder. We stopped to get the only cache up there and were forced back into the car when this ^ came across the mountain...that isn't rain, it's hail!

On the way back we took this photo of an area where there are protestors. We're still not sure what they are protesting about but assume it has something to do with the forest. They looked as though they were settled in and had been there a while. Behind that curtain is a toilet. Does the sign mean you only have a certain amount of time to do your business???
