Those Drawers and Dad's Old Box

A while ago you may remember I insisted that Stephen stop and pick up a chest of drawers (here) from a neighbours house they had placed on the verge for collection.
It needed to be painted, a new top and handles. Minor details!!
One of the drawers was split so had to glue that back together

We decided we didn't want to spend hours painting and then waiting hours again for it to dry etc...etc. So we bought a spray gun which I saw being used on Shaunna's Blog...Perfectly Imperfect
Were we impressed or what? It makes painting easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Makes a bit of a mess but luckily that black plastic came in handy..thanks Vicki x
We decided on a pale blue instead of white this time. Quite like it too!
Stephen is now an expert with the sprayer...
...and he's also pretty good at joining bit of wood together
After all the hard work getting the top made there was no way we were going to paint it.
A final sanding and a few coats of clear varnish...
......and the new top is in place
Found these cute little draw pulls on eBay...very cheap!
A little bit of distressing.....
....and voila!!.....Loving it!!

While painting the drawers we decided to fix up this old box which belonged to my dad.
The bottom had fallen out years ago so Stephen replaced it.
The top was a bit worse for wear....
...so we decided to paint it but kept the old rusty latch.
We used the box as a bit of a tester before we started on the drawers to get used to the sprayer
 We love this too
